2025 Bridal Makeup Trends: Cherry Blush Glow!

Creates Magical Bridal Photos

Darlings, when I pull out my neon pink and peach blushers during bridal trials, I've literally seen brides panic! Their eyes widen as if to say, "You're putting THAT on my face for my wedding day?!"

But here's the thing—these frighteningly bright colors are actually my secret weapon for creating that ethereal, lit-from-within glow that photographs like absolute magic, especially in château settings. It's THE makeup trend of 2025, and I've been perfecting this technique for years before it hit the mainstream.

My Secret Weapon for Bridal Glow!

Let's talk about THE makeup trend of 2025 that's absolutely everywhere - cherry blush! This trend is EPIC and I'm obsessed! It's one foolproof way of giving yourself a beautiful blushing glow that looks natural while enhancing your skin. It gives you that perfect pop of blossom colour to the cheeks and can be used alongside a light contour to make your cheeks look epically delicious and glowing – perfect for bridal makeup!

I've Been Doing This For Years!

When I pull out my scary-looking pinks and peach neon blushers while working with brides, they catch sight of them and look like they want to leap off my chair! But I always say, "Trust me, this will give you that desired cheek look and then some."

The magic is in the layering – start with a blush colour close to your natural flush, then add something a little stronger, verging on neon. The result? That cherry blossom glow that photographs like a dream, especially in château settings where natural light plays beautifully against flushed skin.

Not Just For Cheeks!

Here's the insider secret: the bridge of your nose needs a quick lick of this colour combo too! This creates that cohesive, sun-kissed look as if you've just been gently caressed by spring sunshine.

The entire effect is inspired by the first pop of cherry blossom on the trees. The petal pink eyeshadow look created by Peter Philips at Dior for the brand’s recent show in Kyoto, we can love it too and make this look our own.

How To Nail The Cherry Blush Look:

  1. Apply your base blush (something close to your natural flush) high on the cheekbone

  2. Lift upwards with a clean brush

  3. Sweep across the nose for that sun-touched effect

  4. Add two precise pops of the near-neon pink over the top of your more muted pink

  5. Blend the edges so there are no harsh lines, but keep the intensity of that cherry pop

My Favourite Cherry Blush Products (That Look Terrifying in the Pan!)

Sephora's "Sweet on You" and "Trust Yourself" powder blushers are excellent for giving you that perfect bridal glow. Yes, they look like they came straight from the 80s – and you're imagining your mum with her quiff, winged eyeliner, and a stroke of neon blush (oh, weren't those days ace?). But trust me, these powder blushers work an absolute dream! Just apply and buff, buff, buff.

My other go-to if you want a glowing cream without the powder is Elf's "Bermuda" – a lovely cream blush that you can apply with fingers or a brush and watch that heavenly glow appear right before your eyes.

Want something even more neon? "Grateful" by Bare Beauty shines from within the pot! And "Big Ego" by Tarte? No need for a flashlight here, darlings! These epic colours look and feel wonderfully frightening, yet applied lightly, they give you that all-summer glow that's perfect for brides.

The Expert Inspiration

Created by Peter Phillips for Dior Makeup for the brand's recent show in Kyoto, and now adapted for you beauties getting married in 2025, this technique creates the most beautiful, youthful glow in photographs – especially when you're standing against the golden stone walls of a French château as the evening sun hits just right.

Why It Works So Well for Bridal Photography:

  • Creates a dimension that catches natural light beautifully

  • Gives a youthful, healthy flush that looks natural in person

  • Photographs with the perfect amount of colour, even after hours of wear

  • Complements the warm tones of château settings

  • Balances with both traditional and modern bridal looks

Much love, Lisa x
